Director and screenwriter Yuichi Fukuda, known for hit series like "Gintama" and "The Hero Yoshihiko," has won over audiences with his signature hilarious and absurd style.
Yesterday (Oct 22), Director Fukuda posted a photo on X that sent fans into a frenzy. It was a super cute moment of Kanna Hashimoto, who played Kagura in his film "Gintama," on set. He also spilled the beans on Hashimoto's food logic while filming, leaving fans in stitches and exclaiming, "She's literally Kagura in real life!"

In "Gintama," Kagura is a petite yet incredibly gluttonous character from the alien Yato clan. Director Fukuda shared a hilarious anecdote from back then:
"During the filming of 'Gintama 1,' I told her at lunchtime, 'Kanna, time to eat!' She replied, 'I've been eating too much lately, so I'm fasting today.' I thought, 'Okay, cool.' But when I went to grab lunch, I saw it was udon that day. I came back to the monitor with my udon, and what do I see? Kanna was already eating udon!"
I asked her, 'Huh? Didn't you say you were fasting?' And she shot back, 'Udon doesn't really count as a meal, right?'"
This exchange, coupled with Hashimoto's "eating shamelessly" demeanor, perfectly captured Kagura herself. The post immediately went viral, with the comment section flooded with reactions like "She's so much like Kagura!" and "It's literally real-life Kagura!"

Turns out, the post originated from Warner Bros. Japan's official account, which had put out an interactive post for the "fall feasting season," asking who the ultimate eating champion was: Kagura from "Gintama" or Augustus Gloop from "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory"? Director Fukuda saw it and took the opportunity to share this hilarious behind-the-scenes photo of Hashimoto.

Of course, beyond "Gintama," Kanna Hashimoto has also delivered stellar performances in recent films. She played Karyo Ten, an androgynous and intelligent character, in "Kingdom." She took on the role of assassin Kei Kikuno in "The Violence Action" and portrayed pink-haired genius hacker Shino Hojo in "Black Night Parade."

From the gluttonous, airheaded Kagura to the cool, sharp assassin and the adorable pink-haired hacker, Hashimoto has truly owned every role with her talent and charm. No wonder fans watching the behind-the-scenes footage joked, "It's not Hashimoto playing Kagura; it's Kagura possessing Hashimoto!"
