X User Backs "Umamusume" VA Machico by Buying Her Homegrown Rice, Self-Proclaimed: "A True VA Pig!"

Whether you're a fan of voice actors, idols, or VTubers, everyone has their own way of showing support. Buying merch or attending live events are common ways to send a message to your faves.

But recently, an X user in Japan shared a truly unique way to support their favorite voice actor: not by buying acrylic stands or character goods, but by "buying rice"! This unusual method has everyone wondering: are VAs getting into farming now?

The fan in question is supporting voice actor Machico, known for roles like Ibuki Tsubasa in "The Idolmaster Million Live!" and Tokai Teio in "Umamusume Pretty Derby." Hailing from Hiroshima Prefecture, Machico has been actively promoting her hometown's rice, even getting her hands dirty in the fields herself. Her goal is to boost local agriculture, and many of her fans are happily spending their cash to back her efforts.

The X user posted: "The era of collecting female voice actor acrylic stands is over. The new era? Buying 'rice' grown by female voice actors—"

The user even joked, "By eating crops personally grown by a female voice actor, we can truly become 'VA pigs.' If you want to buy Machico's rice, head to the Hiroshima Food Festival!" Clearly, they're fully immersed in a world of VA love and delicious rice. (Note: "豚" or "pig" is a self-deprecating term fans use, implying they follow blindly like pigs.)

Machico herself also posted about setting up a booth at the Hiroshima Food Festival, encouraging everyone to support local agriculture—and not just rice!

And don't let her charming demeanor fool you; Machico is genuinely dedicated to rice farming. Her commitment even caught the eye of the Japanese Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, leading to an interview on one of their programs. Even the government is noticing her passion!

She's not the only one either! Aimi, known for voicing Kasumi Toyama in "BanG Dream!" and Kyoko Yamate in "D4DJ," has also ventured into agriculture. She sells "Aimi Rice," grown in her home prefecture of Hyogo, and it's a huge hit with her fans.

While these examples might be few and far between, this kind of cross-industry collaboration, especially when tied to a VA's hometown, really lets fans see their favorite voice actors' love for their roots. It's definitely a cool trend!
