As many fans know, "Avengers 5," currently dubbed "Avengers: Doomsday," was initially titled "The Kang Dynasty" and was set to feature Kang the Conqueror as the primary antagonist, rather than Doctor Doom. Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) enthusiasts have long wondered how the original "Kang Dynasty" storyline would have pitted heroes against Kang. Now, Michael Waldron, who is writing both "Doomsday" and the original "Kang Dynasty" script, has offered a glimpse into those plans.

During a recent Reddit AMA, Waldron shared a specific snippet from the scrapped "Kang Dynasty" narrative with a fan. He recounted, "Jeff Loveness (co-writer on 'The Kang Dynasty') and I once spent an entire afternoon brainstorming a plot where the Young Avengers defeat Kang. We were so excited... The defeated Kang was then found with a small card on him that read: 'Please be patient with him, it's his first day as Kang.' The Young Avengers were then quite deflated." Waldron added, "I recall that particular Kang might have been the Lizard Kang variant who was supposed to appear at the very end of 'The Kang Dynasty'? I don't quite remember. Regardless, we had a blast writing it." Regardless of how the original concept played out, it now seems destined to remain unfilmed.
