Two months ago, renowned entertainment journalist Daniel Richtman first reported in a paid X article that the next "Jurassic World" film was in active development, with Scarlett Johansson expected in a leading role. Today, Jeff Sneider, another entertainment journalist known for breaking exclusive stories, followed up with further casting updates via his paid blog, "The InSneider."

Sneider indicates that Gareth Edwards, currently attached to direct the upcoming "Jurassic World" film, is in final negotiations to helm the next installment of the long-running "Jurassic" franchise. Mahershala Ali and Jonathan Bailey, also reportedly key cast members for the upcoming film, are likewise expected to join the project. While details regarding the screenwriter and a definitive release date remain undisclosed, earlier whispers suggested Universal Pictures was eyeing a Summer 2028 theatrical window.
