The ensemble cast features Sam Rockwell, Haley Lu Richardson, Juno Temple, Michael Peña, Tanya van Graan, and Zazie Beetz, among others. The story kicks off in a small diner where Rockwell plays an enigmatic stranger who claims to have traveled back in time from the future. He suddenly appears, informing the patrons that they must join him to prevent an artificial intelligence from seizing control of the world. While the customers are hesitant to believe him, they cannot entirely dismiss the unsettling possibility that their current reality might be a computer simulation.
