Japanese toy company KOTOBUKIYA's "Mega Man X" model kit series has announced its latest product, the "Iris X4 Ver." model kit, with a suggested retail price of 9,020 JPY, scheduled for release in May 2026!
Iris (アイリス), the first female character to appear in the "Zero" scenario of "Mega Man X4," is an operator for the Repliforce and Colonel's younger sister. She possesses a gentle and peace-loving nature, disliking combat. Having once been saved by Zero, the two met and developed feelings for each other. To prevent a battle between Colonel and Zero, she voluntarily went to the Maverick Hunter headquarters and served as Zero's operator. Ultimately, due to the hostile conflict between the two factions, a tragedy unfolded where she died in Zero's arms.
Making her debut as a model kit, the "Iris X4 Ver." is based on the game's design drafts. It utilizes CAD design to thoroughly pursue accurate proportions, achieving excellent articulation and precise sculpting, granting a high degree of poseability. Multi-color molded parts reproduce the various colors of her armor, and some parts are pre-painted, allowing for a high-fidelity recreation of Iris's in-game appearance with just a straight build~
It comes with three interchangeable face parts: a normal expression, a smiling face looking right, and a troubled face looking left, along with five pairs of interchangeable hand parts. Her voluminous hair is divided into three sections: root, middle, and tip. Movable hair shafts and ball joints allow it to sway with her movements, delicately expressing different states. The skirt is also divided into five separate pieces, each capable of independent movement, allowing for various poses without hindering leg articulation. Furthermore, her hat is detachable and includes a dedicated replacement hat part, allowing you to recreate her appearance without the hat~ The packaging box also features an original illustration drawn by Keisuke Mizuno, the original artist behind many character designs in the "Mega Man X" series!
