The model kit series 'MODEROID', launched by Japan's MECHA SMILE brand, has announced its latest product from the anime 'Getter Robo Armageddon', the 'Getter 1 (OVA Ver.)', slated for release in October 2026.
The original 'Getter Robo', which appeared in 'Getter Robo Armageddon', was mass-produced three years prior to the main story during the 'Lunar War', and was one of the super robot armies fighting against the alien lifeforms known as 'Invaders'. Subsequently, with the introduction of its successor, 'Getter Robo G', older Getter Robos were gradually phased out. However, when piloted by former Getter Team members like Ryoma Nagare, this unit could still unleash astonishing power comparable to its successors.
The completed 'MODEROID Getter 1 (OVA Ver.)' kit stands approximately 15 cm tall. Its overall design is based on the GK (Garage Kit) statue created by the talented Japanese sculptor Tomonobu Fuchi (T・O・P!). MECHA SMILE has utilized modern technology to retain the highly appealing details of the original statue and redesigned it into an articulated model kit. Using multiple molded color parts, clear parts, and some pre-painted sections, it faithfully reproduces the intricately colored face and the white and red armor of the entire body.
Thanks to its flexible articulation in various parts, Getter 1 can be posed with its armaments such as the 'Getter Tomahawk', 'Getter Machine Gun', and the abdominal 'Getter Beam Emitter', allowing for various dynamic battle poses and recreating classic poses from the original GK kit. For the red cape on its back, the 'Getter Wing', you can choose between plastic parts or fabric material parts. The fabric parts feature embedded metal wires, allowing for free shaping to create highly dynamic scenes.
