To mark this epic milestone, the official team is dropping some seriously limited-edition anniversary watches. Two stunning models are available: one for Maya Kitajima and one for Ayumi Himekawa. Glass Mask (ガラスの仮面), created by mangaka Suzue Miuchi, first began serialization in 1976 in the magazine Hana to Yume. Alongside The Daughter of the Nile, it stands as a cornerstone shojo title from the 70s, with its sales figures in the shojo genre only surpassed by another titan, Boys Over Flowers.
It later resumed serialization in Bessatsu Hana to Yume in 2008 and, believe it or not, is still technically ongoing! To date, 49 tankobon volumes have been released, though it's been on a notoriously long hiatus. While the author insists she'll finish it, fans once voted it among the manga they "don't think will ever end."
