Japan's TAKARA TOMY toy company's high-end toy brand T-SPARK, known for its "SYNERGENEX" dream transforming toy series that collaborates with popular IPs, has officially announced an amazing new work born from the powerful collaboration of "Transformers" and "Neon Genesis Evangelion": "EVA Prime Unit-01" (エヴァンゲリオンプライム初号機)! It is scheduled to ship in late August 2026, with a suggested retail price of 11,000 JPY.
This work is a dream machine based on "Optimus Prime," the most popular character in the "Transformers" story, incorporating the classic Unit-01 color scheme and design details. It's as if Optimus Prime scanned Unit-01 and was reborn in a new form! Not only does it retain the consistent transformation mechanism of Transformers toys, allowing it to fully transform from robot mode into a container truck vehicle mode, but in robot form, its articulated joints also allow for cool battle-ready poses. In vehicle mode, the purple and green color scheme adds a fresh touch to the classic container truck's charm.
Weapon accessories include the Ion Gatling Blaster (オンガトリングブラスター), crafted according to the settings of both worldviews, two Progressive Energy Knives (プログレッシブエナジーナイフ), the Axe of Cassius (カシウスの斧) which fuses the Spear of Cassius with an Energy Axe, and the Matrix of Leadership (コアマトリクス). Not only can the weapons be mounted on its back using attachment parts, but it can also recreate the iconic pose of holding the Matrix aloft! Even better, the face mask can be switched between ON/OFF states. When the mask is OFF, the mouth can open and close, making it effortless to recreate moments reminiscent of Unit-01's berserk state!
