BANDAI SPIRITS Hobby Division in Japan is set to release its latest plastic model kit, the "MG 1/100 Full Armor ZZ Gundam Ver. Ka", from the anime series "Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ" on February 21, 2026. Ahead of its release, official new information including the product's box art design and actual sample images have been unveiled.
While the MSZ-010 ZZ Gundam is a mobile suit equipped with various high-firepower beam and projectile armaments, its structural integrity was somewhat weak due to its transformation and combination from three fighter jets. To counter the growing strength of the Neo Zeon forces and the monstrous giant MA "NZ-000 Quin Mantha", the AEUG first proposed an enhancement plan, resulting in the "Enhanced ZZ Gundam". Later, utilizing data from the test unit FAZZ, they further modified it into the "Full Armor ZZ Gundam", which boasts comprehensively enhanced defense, firepower, and mobility.
The development of the "MG 1/100 Full Armor ZZ Gundam Ver. Ka" was also fully supervised by mechanical designer KATOKI HAJIME. Continuing the design direction of previous products like the "Enhanced ZZ Gundam Ver.Ka" and "FAZZ Ver.Ka", it allows for the recreation of both the Enhanced ZZ Gundam and Full Armor ZZ Gundam forms by attaching and detaching parts. Furthermore, the shapes of the added armor parts have been meticulously adjusted to maintain a cool and proportionate physique, reducing any bulky impression.
Most of the overall parts are a mix and recolor from the "Enhanced ZZ Gundam Ver.Ka" and "FAZZ Ver.Ka", with only two small new armor pieces and connecting parts. The silver foil stickers used for the twin-eye cameras and sensors, and the water-slide decals for recreating the unit's markings, feature some new designs.
In its "Full Armor ZZ Gundam" form, the abdominal armor can be chosen in either blue or white color schemes. The distinctive "Double Beam Rifle" armament can be equipped in two ways: handheld or mounted on the right arm.
Numerous mechanisms throughout the body ensure a wide range of articulation, such as the forearms featuring a highly rotatable pivot design, the wrists having an interlocking mechanism unaffected by the added armor, and the front skirt armor expanding upwards when the legs are raised. Each missile pod can be manually opened and closed, and the internal red warheads are also separately molded parts.
By replacing the missile pod on the right side of the backpack and the shoulder armor parts, the impressively sized large armament, the "Hyper Mega Cannon", can be mounted on the shoulder. Multiple articulation points allow for changing the firing direction, and a grip for handheld use can be deployed from beneath the cannon barrel.
