The Danish LEGO Group's Technic series recently unveiled a new F1-themed product, item number 42228: "McLaren MCL39 F1 Car"! It is scheduled for release on March 1, 2026, with a suggested retail price of US$229.99.
This brick-built model of the MCL39 race car, comprising 1675 pieces, is crafted at a 1/8 scale. Once assembled, it stands approximately 13 cm tall and boasts an impressive length of 61 cm. It faithfully recreates the classic and striking orange and black livery, featuring front-wheel steering, suspension, a gearbox, and a differential. It can also replicate the DRS (Drag Reduction System) rear wing angle adjustment found on real F1 cars. A major highlight of this model is the ability to remove the engine cover and fully appreciate the rich details of the V6 engine.
