GASHAPON, the gashapon brand of Bandai Co., Ltd. Japan, has announced the second wave of its 'Gashapon Senshi ZERO' series, which recreates classic Gundam eraser toys. The 'Mobile Suit Gundam Gashapon Senshi ZERO 02' is scheduled for release in late August 2026.

The origin of this series dates back to the 1980s, before the GASHAPON brand was born, with the popular gashapon toy 'SD Gundam World' (collectively known as 'Gundam Erasers' along with its subsequent 'Gashapon Senshi' series revisions) that swept across Japan. Unlike the more refined modern designs of the previous 'Gashapon Senshi DASH' and 'Gashapon Senshi f' series, which incorporated plastic parts, 'Gashapon Senshi ZERO' embraces an 80s retro style, producing Gundam mobile suits in their authentic 2-head-tall SD form, showcasing rich details despite their compact 3 cm height.

The second wave's product lineup includes six mobile suits: 'Mighty Strike Freedom Gundam', 'Black Knight Squad Cal-re.A', and 'Destiny Gundam SpecII' from the theatrical anime film Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM; 'Penelope' and 'Arios' from the anime film Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway; and 'GFred' from the anime Gundam GQuuuuuuX.

Each mobile suit, in its approximately 3 cm SD form, features characteristic head sculpts, armor or wing details, and weaponry. They are available in two monochromatic versions: 'Monochrome Red' and 'Monochrome Blue'. Furthermore, the featured three mobile suits – 'Mighty Strike Freedom Gundam', 'Black Knight Squad Cal-re.A', and 'Arios' – will also be released in richly painted color versions, more closely matching their in-series color schemes.
