Yesterday (23rd), Danish toy company LEGO officially unveiled the previously leaked set, number 72423, "Shrek, Donkey & Puss in Boots"! It is scheduled for release on June 1, 2026, with a suggested retail price of US$129.99.
Shrek is a green-skinned ogre who lives in a swamp. He possesses immense strength, is skilled in fighting, has a fearsome appearance that even adult men would dread, can release a fart potent enough to stun fish in a pond, and can even pull out his earwax to use as a candle. Shrek, who enjoys solitude, one day encounters a talkative donkey who can speak. Later, his swamp becomes crowded with a multitude of fairytale characters, and he learns that they are all homeless due to Lord Farquaad. Annoyed by these unexpected intruders, Shrek decides to confront Lord Farquaad to reclaim the peace of his swamp, unexpectedly embarking on a journey to defeat a dragon and rescue a princess...
This set contains a total of 1403 pieces, and once assembled, stands approximately 24 cm tall. The overall design features brick-built Shrek and Donkey, along with a LEGO minifigure version of Puss in Boots, incorporating iconic elements from the Shrek story. These include a swamp scene, a "Beware Ogre!" signpost, and a flower model that can be placed in Donkey's mouth. Shrek and Donkey are equipped with numerous articulation points throughout their bodies. For instance, the official images show Shrek resting his hand on Donkey's back and Donkey turning his head towards Shrek, perfectly conveying their brotherly camaraderie! Shrek's belly also hides an interesting Easter egg.
