Japanese toy company Kenelephant (ケンエレファント) yesterday (23rd) unveiled several new capsule toy projects currently under supervision. This article will bring you product information on the 'makomo Squishy Soft Hand Pagu' (tentative translation, makomo フニプニ パーグー マスコット), a collaboration with Japanese illustrator makomo! It is scheduled for release in August 2026, with a suggested retail price of 500 JPY per capsule, and a total of five styles to collect.
Characters drawn by makomo are full of humor and a healing atmosphere. With simple lines and calm expressions, they are sometimes quirky and absurd, sometimes lazy and soft, as if uniquely humorous outside the box yet not too far from everyday life. This is perhaps the greatest charm of makomo's works, always bringing a knowing smile to people's faces.
The protagonist of this three-dimensional rendition is a hand named 'Pagu' (パーグー) that has grown legs – a bit inexplicable but incredibly cute. While detailed specifications have not yet been announced, according to the official website, it is expected to be a satisfyingly large size! The overall design is presented as a soft squeeze toy, feeling like something you'd instinctively want to keep squeezing and kneading once it's in your hand. There are five types of Pagu: Happy, Giving Up, Spaced Out, Rushing, and Thinking. It can also be hung on bags, making it highly anticipated.
