Max Factory, the Japanese toy company behind the incredibly diverse and popular "PLAMAX" assembly model kit brand, is set to release its latest product based on the hit anime "Dandadan": the "PLAMAX Turbo Babaa (Maneki-neko)" model kit! Priced at 5,500 JPY, this exciting new release is slated for November 2026.

Turbo Babaa, a yokai from Japanese urban legends, is depicted in "Dandadan" as a powerful earth-bound spirit (Jibakurei) residing in the tunnels of Seino City. Her purpose is to appease the vengeful spirits of young girls. She's known for her incredible speed, and legend says anyone she overtakes will be cursed. After cursing Okarun and stealing his "balls," she was sealed into a Maneki-neko doll by Seiko, subsequently assisting Okarun and Momo in their quest to retrieve the missing "balls."
The "PLAMAX Turbo Babaa (Maneki-neko)" model kit stands approximately 15 cm tall once assembled. It faithfully recreates her adorable appearance after her consciousness was transferred into the Maneki-neko, and can be built without the need for adhesive. The "千万両" (Ten Million Ryo) coin on her chest, along with the golden ball and bell, are pre-painted parts, allowing for a highly accurate, anime-faithful look straight out of the box! What's more, the kit features a wind-up mechanism: simply pull the golden ball on her back and release it to activate Turbo Babaa's super cute tantrum, complete with flailing arms and legs! How can any fan resist bringing this home?
