World-renowned Hong Kong toy manufacturer Hot Toys has unveiled a new product themed after the "Star Wars" animated spin-off series "Shadow Lord" – the "Maul" 1/6 scale collectible figure. It has a suggested retail price of US$280 and is slated for release in December 2027!
"Shadow Lord," which premiered on Disney+ earlier this April, is set between "The Clone Wars" and "Star Wars Rebels." It tells the story of the former Sith Lord Maul, abandoned by his master and surviving on pure hatred, as he attempts to rebuild his criminal empire on a fringe planet outside Imperial control during the early days of the Galactic Empire.
This 1/6 scale Maul collectible figure stands approximately 29 cm tall. It appears to partially reuse the sculpt from the previous "The Phantom Menace" version, presenting Maul's appearance from "Shadow Lord" in a realistic style. The intricate sculpt faithfully recreates his fierce visage, including two interchangeable face sculpts: one resolute and one roaring. These can be paired with the articulated eyeball mechanism to capture lifelike expression details! The body accurately features his mechanical prosthetic legs. His costume is meticulously layered with composite black fabric materials to recreate his on-screen look. The outer robe, wide belt, and long boots are all crafted from durable, leather-like fiber materials, showcasing a realistic and premium feel!
Accessories include three pairs of gloved interchangeable hands and two pairs of bare hands. For weapons, his lightsaber features both single-bladed and double-bladed hilts with LED light-up functions. It also includes a standard double-bladed hilt that can be separated into two single-bladed hilts. Additionally, it comes with both regular and newly developed wavy motion-blur blade effects. These can be combined with the specialized display base and the figure's 30 points of articulation to recreate a variety of dynamic poses!
