Bandai Spirits' Tamashii Nations has just announced the latest entry in its Ganso SD Gundam World model kit line: the "Captain Formula 91" from "SD Command Chronicles"! This highly anticipated release is slated for October 2026.
First appearing in "SD Command Chronicles III: SUPER G-ARMS," Captain Formula 91 is the Warrior of Light born after a heavily damaged Captain Gundam fused with the G-Armor to become "Captain Gundam FF" and was subsequently upgraded. Based on the Gundam F91, he boasts magnificent golden armor and wields the brilliant "Shining Shield." He possesses the ability to transform into the Sacred Beast "Star Griffon" and can unleash the devastating "Cosmo Nova Buster," a powerful special attack that absorbs energy from surrounding stars.
This revival version, the "Ganso SD Gundam World Captain Formula 91," brings the classic "NO-117 Captain Formula 91" kit from the 1990s back to life using modern scanning technology and brand-new molds. While the kit retains its original black, red, and gold molded colors, along with gold-plated parts, several updates have been made. The red parts are now made from a hard plastic, and many parts that were originally white—such as the face, hands, and side skirt armor—have been changed to gold for a more consistent and impressive armored look. The helmet has also received a revamped sculpt.
Weapon accessories include the "Beam Plasma Rifle," the "Beam Claw V.S.B.R.," and the gold-plated "Shining Shield." The figure can also fully transform into its Sacred Beast "Star Griffon" mode. Additionally, this release includes newly designed optional face parts for customization. Both face parts come with sticker options for eyes with or without pupils.
