Ari Aster, the acclaimed director behind modern horror masterpieces "Hereditary" and "Midsommar," is officially moving forward with his fifth feature film. Deadline exclusively reported today that his next project is titled "Scapegoat," with Aster penning the script himself. A24, the studio that has distributed all four of his previous films, will once again handle distribution.

While plot details for "Scapegoat" are being kept under strict wraps, Scarlett Johansson is confirmed to star, with production slated to begin in the latter half of this year. The late-year filming schedule was reportedly due to Johansson's packed calendar, which includes upcoming commitments to a new "The Exorcist" sequel and "The Batman" sequel. Both parties ultimately found a suitable window at the end of the year to make the collaboration possible.
