World-renowned Hong Kong collectible manufacturer Hot Toys has officially unveiled its latest product from "Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace"—the Battle Droid & STAP 1/6 Scale Collectible Figure Set. The set is priced at $255 USD and is scheduled to ship in Q4 2027!
Battle Droids were designed and manufactured by Baktoid Armor Workshop for the Trade Federation. Inexpensive and rapidly produced, they became the primary fighting force for the Separatist army during the Clone Wars. The STAP, an acronym for Single Trooper Aerial Platform, is a lightweight reconnaissance and strike repulsorcraft widely used by the Trade Federation's droid army.
The Battle Droid figure in this set stands approximately 32 cm tall, perfectly capturing its unique and slender silhouette. The detailed paint application recreates its beige mechanical body, complete with complex weathering effects that suggest the wear and tear of countless battles. The figure features 26 points of articulation for a wide range of dynamic poses and can even be folded into its 14 cm tall, compact storage mode. Accessories include multiple interchangeable hands, a communications backpack with an extendable antenna, an E-5 blaster rifle, and a pair of binoculars for reconnaissance missions, allowing you to recreate various combat scenarios!
The STAP vehicle also stands approximately 32 cm tall and is a highly accurate recreation of its on-screen appearance. The sculpt showcases the Trade Federation's rugged, function-over-form aesthetic, brought to life with masterful paint application and realistic weathering effects. The vehicle's handlebars, control platform, and foot pedals are all articulated for perfect posing with the Battle Droid. Furthermore, the propulsion turbines feature an LED light-up function, enabling a more realistic depiction of the vehicle in action!
