Toys "R" Us x ACID RAIN x FEXT HOBBY Crossover: 1/12 Novark - Thane (Funburst Edition) Brings Vibrant Nostalgia!

"ACID RAIN: Entropy Ark" Story Synopsis

The Black Soil Continent, known as the most "natural and harmonious" forbidden zone in the Acid Rain World, has been largely untouched for decades. After fanatical zealots of the Gani Holy Order stole Babel Tech for "purification," unknown interference has rendered all detectors useless, making it difficult for ships to approach and isolating the region from outside information.

Various factions, both large and small, have dispatched fleets to land on the continent. However, their crews and vessels either mysteriously vanished, or the few survivors returned inexplicably catatonic, only to die shortly after. Multiple unknown elements were detected in the survivors, and a peculiar substance capable of continued growth even after death was found within their bodies. These mysterious allurements have stirred the ambitions of major powers, with New Atlantis, one of the three largest logistics giants, being the most proactive. For them, the Black Soil Continent represents the optimal transit point on their Far East shipping routes. Conquering it would not only yield exponential profit growth but also provide a crucial early advantage to curb the development of their rival, Pacific Storage & Transport. Furthermore, the newly discovered substances could potentially become one of the most vital resources in the future. The continent also houses a Babel Tech research facility, and recovering its cutting-edge equipment and data would undoubtedly lead to significant breakthroughs for New Atlantis' technological advancement.

Consequently, New Atlantis launched the Entropy Ark Project. Using shipping berths and shared development results as bait, they invited allies to send their elites and coerced or enticed desperate individuals to participate, forming a fleet to explore and develop the continent. Simultaneously, they publicly recruited volunteers to shed their past lives and identities, becoming test subjects, "Boat People," and the first wave of "New Immigrants" for the future.

In today's market, flooded with countless products offering excellent value, making a company's product stand out is a significant challenge. To address this, Hong Kong-based manufacturer Fext Hobby has teamed up with Kit Lau's ACID RAIN series to create a 1/12 scale ACID RAIN figure line reminiscent of Western action figures! Boasting high articulation, appealing designs, and most importantly, an accessible price point, these figures are designed to entice collectors!

The figure stands approximately 160mm tall! Accessories primarily include a removable helmet, exoskeleton parts, and various weapons!

The aesthetic is incredibly eye-catching, with a vibrant, clashing color scheme that is truly unconventional and bold! Overall, it feels like a Western-style action figure body, and all parts are made of soft vinyl, making it very safe for play. Despite its approximate HKD 300 price point, it still includes a removable reinforced exoskeleton, various weapons, and other features that enhance playability! The biggest surprise is that the helmets on some versions are also removable, offering a play experience similar to that of Western action figures. Articulation is decent. Cost aside, I personally suggest the body sculpt could take cues from Japanese S.H.Figuarts. Regarding hand sculpts, beyond the gun-holding hands, I hope more expressive hands are included for better posing versatility! Additionally, the rear exoskeleton attachment wasn't perfectly smooth to assemble; I personally had to trim the peg to achieve a perfect fit. Honestly, for such an interesting collaboration, the quality at this price point is simply outstanding! Fans of ACID RAIN or Toys "R" Us absolutely shouldn't miss this!

I'll say it again! The price, the quality, and the collectible value of this collaboration are truly irresistible!
