This advanced branch focuses on enhanced size, color separation, and detailed sculpting. The latest release is a 1/48 scale model kit of the iconic "Swordfish II" from the classic anime "Cowboy Bebop" (カウボーイビバップ). Priced at 9,800 JPY, it's slated for a December 2026 release!
The Swordfish II is protagonist Spike Spiegel's personal spacecraft. Originally a high-speed racing vessel, it was later modified into a formidable starfighter equipped with a high-performance fusion engine and aircraft cannons. It features a classic vibrant red paint scheme and a sleek, aerodynamic fuselage, distinguished by its unique folding wings. Its most prominent feature is the massive plasma cannon mounted on its underside, granting it both incredible speed and immense firepower.
This 1/48 scale Swordfish II model kit boasts an impressive finished length of approximately 36 cm (14.2 inches) and a wingspan of about 30 cm (11.8 inches). Under the supervision of mechanical designer Kimitoshi Yamane, the kit faithfully recreates the Swordfish II's in-anime appearance. Thanks to pre-painted parts and precise color separation, builders can achieve a high level of accuracy even with a straight build. For advanced hobbyists, there's ample opportunity to add custom weathering details and further enhance its realism!
Key sections of the main wings are crafted from metal for enhanced durability and realism. The sub-wings accurately replicate their folding mechanism and rotational function. The landing gear is fully retractable and deployable, while the plasma cannon can rotate and extend. The detachable cockpit comes in both pre-painted and clear versions. Additionally, two miniature Spike Spiegel figures are included: one posed for sitting inside the cockpit and another standing, offering collectors versatile display options. A dedicated multi-angle display stand is also included, allowing fans to perfectly showcase the Swordfish II's iconic charm!
