The MODEROID model kit series, from Japan's MECHA SMILE brand, has announced the upcoming release of two main Aura Battlers from the anime "Wings of Rean": Nanajin and Oukaoh. Release dates are yet to be determined.
"Wings of Rean" is a novel series penned by renowned Japanese anime director Yoshiyuki Tomino between 1983 and 1986. Set in a parallel world with the same universe as "Aura Battler Dunbine," it explores the events preceding the birth of the Aura Battlers. The two brother machines announced for commercialization, Nanajin and Oukaoh, appeared in the 2005-2006 web anime adaptation. This anime depicts a world approximately 50 years after the novel's events. Nanajin's pilot is the protagonist, Josefu Suzuki, who is summoned to Byston Well. Opposing him is Sakomizu Oh, the pilot of Oukaoh, who is none other than the novel's protagonist, Sakomizu Shinjiro, having experienced a similar summoning.
The "MODEROID Nanajin" and "MODEROID Oukaoh" mark their debut as model kits, meticulously recreating their insect-like exterior armor with intricate detailing. Both kits feature highly articulated joints for dynamic posing. The "Wings of Rean" on their heads and waists are rendered using clear parts. Each unit can replicate the deployment and storage of its back wings through interchangeable parts, and both come equipped with their respective katana-type weapons.
