BANDAI SPIRITS' Tamashii Nations, known for its popular S.H.Figuarts action figure line, has officially announced the latest release from the "Ultraman" tokusatsu series: the "Alien Zarab 60th Anniversary Edition," slated for December 2026.
First appearing in the original "Ultraman" series, the malevolent cosmic being Alien Zarab is one of the operatives from Planet Zarab, infamous for destroying numerous planets. Possessing immense intellect and advanced scientific technology, he boasts abilities such as flight, hypnosis, and shapeshifting. He swiftly created a portable electronic brain translator to understand Earth languages and cunningly captured Shin Hayata, attempting to seize the "Beta Capsule" used to transform into Ultraman. Alien Zarab even disguised himself as Ultraman, aiming to shatter the trust between the hero and humanity.
The "S.H.Figuarts Alien Zarab 60th Anniversary Edition" is an updated version of the standard release from 2018. Its sculpt was once again supervised by Tsuburaya Productions' LSS modeling department, faithfully recreating the suit's appearance from the show at an approximate height of 15 cm. The color scheme has been re-tuned to reflect Alien Zarab's look during the night battle in "Ultraman" Episode 18, featuring a desaturated palette across its body. All joints throughout the figure offer highly flexible articulation, allowing collectors to pose it in various combat and flight stances.
Accessories include three pairs of interchangeable hands, the portable electronic brain translator, replacement antenna parts, alternate ear parts to recreate his giant form, and a support rod for ear removal. To commemorate the 60th anniversary of the original "Ultraman" broadcast, a new PET display stand featuring the title of Episode 18, "My Home Is Earth," has also been added, perfect for displaying alongside Ultraman and Alien Zarab.
