Japan's MECHA SMILE brand has revealed full details for the latest addition to its MODEROID model kit series: the "Dandivine (Action Model)," based on the anime "Beast King Wargod Dandivine." This new kit is scheduled for release in October 2026.
Japanese hobby manufacturer GOOD SMILE COMPANY recently announced its new 25th-anniversary initiative, the "Gattai-Shin Series," which is set to launch sequentially starting in 2026. This ambitious project aims to carry the culture and appeal of "combining robots" into the future, bringing together numerous creators who are passionate about robots and the MECHA SMILE brand. From the earliest planning stages, toy products and anime works will be fully synchronized. The goal is to release a completely different combining robot anime each year, with corresponding toy releases under the MECHA SMILE brand, ultimately striving to create new classics in robot anime for the Reiwa era.
The first title in the series, "Beast King Wargod Dandivine," is slated to begin airing in October 2026. This production is a collaborative effort featuring industry leaders such as ANIPLEX, TAKARA TOMY, and Toei. The narrative centers on the combining robot "Dandivine," which once repelled the enigmatic foe known as "Amboss," ushering in two decades of peace for humanity. The toy manufacturer "Kesuga," which previously soared in popularity by producing Dandivine toys, now faces a downturn in its operations. The company president, determined to revive Dandivine at any cost, finds a twist of fate when Amboss mysteriously reappears. High school student "Shizuka Kiriba" becomes the new pilot of Dandivine, setting the stage for a brand-new battle.
The "MODEROID Dandivine (Action Model)" features mecha and product design by the Korean team GOD BRAVE STUDIO. Unlike the fully transformable and combinable "THE GATTAI DX Dandivine," this kit adopts an action model specification that prioritizes articulation by omitting the transformation and combination gimmicks, allowing for straightforward assembly. Standing approximately 13 cm tall, it faithfully reproduces the combined form of "Dandivine." Its in-anime appearance can be largely recreated through pre-colored parts, some pre-painted components, and included stickers.
The mecha's exterior armor boasts high-density detail sculpting, resulting in a sharp and formidable aesthetic. By foregoing the transformation and combination mechanisms, each articulated joint achieves enhanced strength and wider range of motion. The twin arms can replicate their Gatling gun configuration through interchangeable parts. Also included is the dedicated weapon, the "Dandivine Greatsword," which is formed by combining the upper body of the "Slashing Unicorn" and the tail of the "Blazing Garuda." This weapon can be wielded with the kit's full-body articulation to achieve highly dynamic slashing poses.
