Japan's Aoshima Bunka Kyozai Co., Ltd. has announced the latest addition to its new "PLAfig." model kit series, which aims for ultimate sculpting. The new product, "Destoroyah Perfect Form," based on the 1995 film "Godzilla vs. Destoroyah," is slated for release in November 2026.
Destoroyah originated as microscopic, oxygen-hating crustaceans that lived 2.5 billion years ago. In 1954, Dr. Serizawa used the "Oxygen Destroyer" to kill the original Godzilla, but in doing so, he inadvertently awakened Destoroyah from its slumber in ancient geological strata. The creature gradually mutated to adapt to oxygen, evolving from its original 2-5 millimeter size into nearly 2-meter-tall juvenile forms. These juveniles could then aggregate to form an "Aggregate Form." Later, by absorbing Godzilla Junior's DNA and power plant energy, Destoroyah further mutated and evolved into its "Perfect Form," towering over 200 meters. Its colossal silhouette resembled a terrifying demon, capable of firing powerful rays that could cut through Godzilla's skin. Its sole weakness was extremely low-temperature freezing beams.
For the "PLAfig. Destoroyah Perfect Form," renowned Japanese sculptor RYO Nendo Seijin, celebrated for his animal and kaiju designs, was brought in to craft the prototype. His organic sculpt has been faithfully reproduced as a highly detailed model kit. Once assembled, the non-articulated model stands approximately 17 cm tall. Precision-molded parts recreate the incredibly dense carapace textures across its entire body, the menacing head with its gaping maw, the layered shell design extending from its back to its tail, and the massive, devil-like wings on its back. This kit fully captures the overwhelming presence of Godzilla's strongest foe from the turn of the millennium.
The kit is made from PS material and features a single molded color, requiring self-painting to achieve the full range of colors. Illustrator TAKA-F designed the product's outer box art. Furthermore, a limited edition sold exclusively through the AOSHIMA ONLINE SHOP will include two "Destoroyah Juvenile" figures. These juvenile forms, sculpted by RINKO (Unbalance), boast clear and rich details despite their miniature size of just 3 cm tall.
