TAKARA TOMY, the Japanese toy company, has announced that the "AZ-17 Ultrasaurus" will be available for pre-order in July 2026. This highly anticipated remake is part of the "ADVANCED Zi SERIES," a special line commemorating the 40th anniversary of their popular "ZOIDS" franchise.
The RZ-037 Ultrasaurus stands as the Republic Army's colossal decisive weapon within the "ZOIDS" universe. Modeled after a Brachiosaurus, it boasts an astounding in-universe length of 2,000 meters, making it the largest Zoid in the entire series. To awaken its core, all seven internal power generators must be activated. This formidable Zoid is also equipped with the "Gravity Cannon," an ultimate destructive strategic weapon manufactured by the Empire, effectively earning it the title of a "mobile fortress."
The "AZ-17 Ultrasaurus" made its grand debut this month at Japan's 64th Shizuoka Hobby Show. This impressive model faithfully recreates the Zoid's dramatically imposing size from the series, measuring a staggering 72.1 cm in length, 37.9 cm in height, and 39.2 cm in width – truly an absolute space hog for any display! The entire body has been meticulously redesigned, and its signature "Gravity Cannon" is brilliantly reproduced. A sophisticated gear mechanism allows for a complete recreation of the cannon's loading sequence, though it cannot actually fire projectiles.
