If you're into high-stakes psychological thrillers, then Nobuyuki Fukumoto's manga "Kaiji" (賭博黙示録カイジ) is probably already on your radar. Even if you haven't dived into the manga, chances are you're familiar with the live-action film series starring Tatsuya Fujiwara.
Back in June, the latest installment in the live-action saga, "Kaiji: Life Revenge Game" (カイジ 人生リベンジゲーム), was announced, confirming Tatsuya Fujiwara's return as the iconic Kaiji Itō. Now, on July 21st, the official crew has dropped a bombshell: four new cast members, their character visuals, and a brand-new trailer! "Kaiji: Life Revenge Game" picks up after Kaiji Itō (played by Tatsuya Fujiwara) barely survives a series of life-or-death gambles against the shadowy Teiai Group. Despite his victory, he finds himself back to his old, aimless ways, drifting through life without purpose.
But just when things seem bleakest, he learns that the Teiai Group is now under the command of its young, second-generation successor—none other than Kazuya Hyōdō. Teaming up with his former underground labor comrade Keita Mashita, Mashita's strong-willed girlfriend Taeko Yūki, and his newly found slacker pal Kōzō Nonomura, Kaiji prepares for an ultimate, all-or-nothing showdown against his sworn enemy.
Stepping into the shoes of the film's main antagonist, the "craziest second-gen" Kazuya Hyōdō, who stands in Kaiji's path, is none other than Kazuya Kamenashi. Meanwhile, Teiai Group employee Keita Mashita, another veteran of the underground empire, will be portrayed by Mahiro Takasugi. Mashita's feisty crepe shop-owning girlfriend, Taeko Yūki, is played by Sara Minami, and Kōzō Nonomura, who works at a golf course, will be brought to life by Susumu Terajima.

Kazuya Kamenashi, who plays the villainous Kazuya Hyōdō, revealed that he watched "Kaiji" over a decade ago and never imagined he'd one day step into that world. He was genuinely surprised and deeply honored to receive the offer.
Hyōdō Kazuya is a hugely popular and intensely charismatic character in the original manga. Kamenashi poured his heart and soul into the role, aiming to capture not just his madness but also a touch of his endearing, human side.
