Released this January as the epic centerpiece for Gunpla's 45th anniversary, the "PG UNLEASHED 1/60 ν Gundam" immediately became the talk of the town. This ultimate masterpiece, packed with cutting-edge tech, had fans scrambling to get their hands on it, even with its hefty price tag.
Recently on X (formerly Twitter), Japanese Gunpla builder GAKU (@gaku_0629) dropped a bombshell: among the several "PGU ν Gundam" painting commissions he's taken this year, one was for none other than the legendary artist GACKT! He even shared a photo of the finished masterpiece alongside GACKT himself, sending fans into a frenzy.
The "PG UNLEASHED 1/60 ν Gundam" marks the second entry in the 'PG UNLEASHED' series for Gunpla's 45th anniversary, and it's the very first time the ν Gundam has been released as a 1/60 scale model kit. Standing at a colossal 557mm tall, Fin Funnels included, this thing is pure presence.
Launched at the end of January 2026 with a jaw-dropping price tag of 66,000 JPY, this beast comes with 79 runner plates and over 1400 individual parts. The sheer scale is absolutely bonkers!
GAKU confessed that while he's been swamped with commissions for this model since February, the sheer number of parts and his busy schedule make each build a marathon. He's only just finished his third one, and it's already July! Talk about a demanding Gunpla project, LOL.
On July 23rd, he finally posted the epic photo: GACKT, the client, posing proudly with the finished masterpiece – GAKU's third PGU ν Gundam commission! GAKU mentioned GACKT was absolutely thrilled with the result, proving the legendary artist has some serious love for the ν Gundam.
Fans online were quick to praise the incredible build quality, noting that if GACKT himself is commissioning it, you know it's next-level stuff. The finished product truly is stunning!
Netizens were absolutely blown away by the craftsmanship, and the fact that GAKU personally delivered it to GACKT had everyone green with envy. But wait, GAKU is already gearing up for his fourth PGU ν Gundam build?! His dedication is seriously off the charts!
Naturally, landing a commission from GACKT himself proves GAKU is a master of his craft. But the real surprise here is GACKT's dedication – buying a PGU ν Gundam and then specifically hiring someone to bring his vision to life. Talk about true fandom!
