Japanese pair figure skaters Riku Miura and Ryuichi Kihara, known as the "RikuRyu" duo, are still incredibly popular after their career-best performance and gold medal win at this year's Milan Winter Olympics.
But wait, there's more! Today, the duo announced their engagement on their respective social media accounts. The news is absolutely brimming with happiness, featuring heartwarming photos of Ryuichi Kihara proposing to Riku Miura on the ice and the two of them proudly showing off their rings. Fans are, of course, showering them with congratulations!

In a joint post, they wrote:
"We're engaged! We've shared so many moments, both joyful and tough, and we've supported each other every step of the way.
Before we knew it, we became irreplaceable and indispensable to each other. We're overjoyed to finally share this official announcement with everyone. Moving forward, we'll continue to support each other, staying true to ourselves as we take each step. We'd be incredibly happy if you all continue to watch over us with warmth."

The couple also shared a series of super sweet photos, including Ryuichi Kihara getting down on one knee on the ice to propose to Riku Miura, and both of them beaming as they showed off their new rings.
The pair officially teamed up in July 2019 after a tryout to find a suitable partner, quickly becoming widely known by their adorable nickname, "RikuRyu." On April 17 this year, they announced their retirement from competitive skating and revealed plans to turn professional.
Ever since they became partners, their interactions, both on the competitive ice and during training captured by the media, made fans see them as more than just teammates. After years of challenging major competitions side-by-side, they've finally become a couple, bringing a wave of warmth to their many devoted fans.
