LEGO and Nintendo's ongoing collaboration for "The Legend of Zelda" series continues with an exciting new reveal! During the "The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Direct" broadcast on September 8th, fans got their first look at the "Link & Epona" large-scale brick model, inspired by "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time." This set immortalizes the iconic image of the duo galloping across Hyrule Field.
Released in 1998, "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time" was the franchise's groundbreaking first 3D installment. Players embarked on an epic adventure with Link, spanning seven years. Epona, the loyal mare, became an indispensable companion for adult Link as he traversed Hyrule. The ability to summon her with Epona's Song and gallop across the vast plains together remains one of the game's most iconic and beloved scenes.
The footage from "The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Direct" showcased Epona rearing up on her hind legs, forelegs dramatically lifted, atop a grass-themed display base. Her brown coat, white mane, and leg markings are all meticulously constructed from LEGO bricks. Perched on her back, Link sports his classic green tunic, wielding the Master Sword and Hylian Shield, poised for action. The entire composition exudes dynamic energy, as if preparing to charge into battle. Unlike previous sets, such as the scene-focused and minifigure-scale "Great Deku Tree 2-in-1" and "Ocarina of Time – The Final Battle", this new release features Link and Epona rendered as large-scale brick-built figures, making it feel more like a complete character sculpture.
Currently, only the basic design has been revealed. The official product number, piece count, dimensions, price, and release date are all yet to be announced, and LEGO's official website has not yet created a dedicated product page. However, the sheer adventurous spirit of "Ocarina of Time" is palpable in the dynamic pose of Epona rearing and Link drawing his sword. Fans eagerly await further official details!
