BANDAI SPIRITS, a Japanese company, is set to release a 1:1 scale prop replica of the "S.A.M. Cocoon" from the popular mobile game "Honkai: Star Rail," based on the character Firefly. This impressive collectible will retail for 22,000 JPY (tax included) and is slated for release in May 2027.
Firefly first appears on Penacony, the Planet of Festivities, the second planet the protagonist, the Trailblazer, visits. Initially approaching the Trailblazer as a new performer, she embarks on a brief adventure with them. Later, her true identity is revealed as a human weapon designed for propagation, a Glamoth Knight. After the fall of the Glamoth Empire, she was taken in by the Stellaron Hunters and made her public debut as Sam, the Molten Knight, using a transformation device to switch between her Knight forms. Firefly suffers from Entropy Loss Syndrome, a genetic modification-induced illness, which forces her to spend most of her time in a hibernation pod and her Knight battlesuit. Firefly's story explores the meaning of confronting death and rebirth, and her initial girlfriend-like demeanor combined with her resolute inner strength has made her incredibly popular among fans.
The "S.A.M. Cocoon" features both a deployed and a stored configuration. In its stored state, it measures approximately 105mm (L) × 248mm (W) × 78mm (H), while the deployed state reaches approximately 440mm (L) × 183mm (W) × 50mm (H). The design faithfully recreates the transformation device's metallic, curved exterior, with its wing-like deployment structure crafted from clear parts. Gradient coloring combined with integrated lighting effects accurately reproduces its cool in-game appearance. Pressing a button deploys the wings, and different lighting patterns allow for the recreation of four distinct states: S.A.M. Mode, S.A.M. Full Burn Mode, Stellaron Hunter S.A.M. Mode (when appearing as an enemy), and Stellaron Hunter S.A.M. Secondary Burn Mode!
This replica also includes a wealth of voice lines, featuring 18 lines from Firefly/S.A.M., 7 lines from Stellaron Hunter S.A.M., and three BGM tracks: "Embers in a Shell," "Never Return," and "If I Can Stop One Heart From Breaking (Chant Version)." All voice lines support both Chinese and Japanese languages. Powered by a rechargeable Li-ion battery with a Type-C charging port, it eliminates the need for frequent battery changes. Furthermore, it comes with a dedicated display stand and interchangeable parts, allowing it to be enjoyed both as a handheld plaything and a striking display piece!
