TAMASHII NATIONS, the collectibles division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS, has officially announced the upcoming release of the "Full Armor Parts Set for Enhanced ZZ Gundam" from the "Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ" series. This latest addition to the "METAL ROBOT SPIRITS (Ka signature)" line, known for its metallic paint finish and die-cast frame under the supervision of renowned mechanical designer KATOKI HAJIME, is slated for an April 2027 release.
While the MSZ-010 ZZ Gundam was equipped with a variety of high-power beam and projectile weaponry, its structural integrity was somewhat weak due to its transformation and combination from three separate fighter jets. To counter the growing military might of the Neo Zeon forces and the monstrously large Mobile Armor, the NZ-000 Queen Mansa, the AEUG first proposed an enhancement plan, resulting in the "Enhanced ZZ Gundam." Later, utilizing data from the test unit FAZZ, they further modified it into the "Full Armor ZZ Gundam," which boasted comprehensive enhancements in defense, firepower, and mobility.
The "METAL ROBOT SPIRITS (Ka signature) Full Armor Parts Set for Enhanced ZZ Gundam" is an expansion parts set designed to be used with the separately sold "METAL ROBOT SPIRITS (Ka signature) Enhanced ZZ Gundam" main unit. It includes a set of additional armor and the large "Hyper Mega Cannon," a weapon that did not appear in the series but was added by mechanical designer Mika Akitaka. This set allows the Enhanced ZZ Gundam to be transformed into its ultimate form, the "Full Armor ZZ Gundam."
Each piece of the additional armor features exquisite color application and fuselage markings, meticulously sculpted details, and even reproduces the internal missile launchers, with detailed missile warheads revealed when the armor is opened. The massive "Hyper Mega Cannon" largely inherits the design from the FAZZ version, boasting intricate details including a scope and energy conduits. The energy conduits are made of soft vinyl, and the connection between the cannon body and the backpack features a multi-axis movable structure, allowing it to be freely mounted on either the left or right shoulder for dynamic, powerful shooting poses.
