Japanese model manufacturer X-PLUS has officially announced the latest addition to its non-articulated plastic model series, "X-PLUS MODEL KIT": the "EVANGELION Unit-01 'G' Awakening Form". This new release, stemming from the "Godzilla vs. Evangelion" collaboration project, is slated for release in December 2026.
The dream collaboration project, "Godzilla vs. Evangelion," officially launched in 2016, sparked by Hideaki Anno's directorial work on "Shin Godzilla." This crossover has led to numerous popular products featuring both Godzilla and EVA. Notably, the pachinko machine "P Godzilla vs. Evangelion: G Cell Awakening" introduced an entirely new story that merged the two universes, depicting Unit-01 mutating after being struck by Godzilla's atomic breath and subsequently infected by G-cells.
The "EVANGELION Unit-01 'G' Awakening Form Plastic Model Kit" is a non-articulated plastic model standing approximately 20 cm tall. It features a design where the skin and armor parts are assembled onto a pre-built central torso. Key head components, such as the left and right eyes and antenna, come pre-painted. This kit meticulously recreates the complex details of Unit-01's armor (restraints), the rough skin texture from the Godzilla cell infection, and its massive dorsal fins and tail.
The display base is crafted to resemble a heavily devastated urban ruin, complete with shattered reinforced concrete structures and asphalt roads. This base powerfully conveys Unit-01's immense size and its even more terrifying destructive capability after its transformation. A nameplate bearing the "EVANGELION VS GODZILLA" logo is also included at the front of the base, further enhancing the model's premium feel.
