BANDAI FASHION COLLECTION, BANDAI’s lifestyle brand specializing in character-themed apparel and merchandise, has revealed its latest release based on the robot action shooter "ARMORED CORE VI FIRES OF RUBICON." The "PB-033M ASHMEAD Pile Bunker Ballpoint Pen" is scheduled for release in May 2027.
"ARMORED CORE VI FIRES OF RUBICON" was developed by FromSoftware and marked the ARMORED CORE series’ return after a 10-year hiatus. Players take on the role of an independent mercenary known as Raven, infiltrating the remote planet Rubicon 3 and becoming embroiled in a conflict between off-world corporations, resistance forces, and other factions fighting over the newly discovered energy resource Coral. As the campaign progresses, players acquire a wide range of parts and weapons to build their own customized Armored Core. Among those weapons is the PB-033M ASHMEAD, a signature armament developed by the game’s fictional corporation Balam Industries.
"PB-033M ASHMEAD Pile Bunker Ballpoint Pen" reimagines the in-game weapon as a functional ballpoint pen measuring approximately 6.3 inches long. Its highly detailed outer armor features a weighty metallic finish that faithfully captures the weapon’s rugged mechanical design, while the pen itself forms the ASHMEAD’s devastating steel spike. Whether it is actually comfortable to write with is beside the point. If anything, having all that armor digging into your fingers only adds to the appeal. Pressing the top to extend the pen tip also activates a linked mechanism that deploys the surrounding armor, recreating the weapon’s in-game transformation.
The mechanical fun does not stop with the pen itself. The set also includes a dedicated storage stand and a custom Balam Industries logo memo pad. Designed to resemble a weapon hangar, the stand features a heavily armored metallic shell packed with finely sculpted mechanical detail. Connect it to power through USB Type-C to activate the built-in LED lighting, then use the integrated touch sensor to cycle through three brightness levels for maximum display impact.
