Jointly developed by TAKARA TOMY's collector-focused T-SPARK brand and Japanese model kit maker Kotobukiya, "METAMOR VERSE" is a new plastic model series that reimagines characters from robot franchises including ZOIDS and Transformers as mecha girls. The line's second release, "MV-02 Fine & Zeke," is scheduled to launch in late April 2027.
"METAMOR VERSE" combines Kotobukiya's extensive expertise in female character model kits with a multiverse built around TAKARA TOMY's own franchises. Characters from ZOIDS, Transformers, and other properties are redesigned as mecha girls and released as fully articulated 1/10-scale plastic model kits.
In the series' story, Ao Kiriyama is a closeted casual otaku with a love for robot toys like ZOIDS. Ever since childhood, she has dreamed of creating toys that people could get excited about and enjoy. However, after changing careers to join a toy company, she becomes discouraged when she fails to land a position in the planning and development department. A childhood friend then introduces her to the VR game "METAMOR VERSE." During an in-game ZOIDS collaboration event, she equips her avatar with the appearance of "Ao Kiriyama & Blade Liger" and later meets a player whose appearance, personality, and mannerisms closely resemble Fine, the heroine of "Zoids: Chaotic Century."
Illustrator Nidy-2D- once again provides the character redesign for "METAMOR VERSE Fine & Zeke." Precision parts molded in multiple colors recreate Fine's signature long blonde hair and pink outfit, while the kit's shapely proportions and extensive articulation support a wide range of dynamic poses. It also includes three pre-painted face parts and five pairs of PVC hands in different styles.
Fine's Organoid partner, "Zeke," has also been transformed into an adorable mini SD-style robot. Its limbs, tail, and other sections feature articulated joints, while its body can be separated and reconfigured into armor and a lance. These parts combine with Fine to create both Standard and Awakened F.A.B.O. Armor Mode. The set is also compatible with the first release, "Ao Kiriyama & Blade Liger," using standardized connection points throughout the figures to support interchangeable armor components.
