BANDAI’s Gashapon brand has teamed up with Japanese woodcarving artist Shiromofu-san for a new Capsule Toy collection titled “Everyday Cats by Woodcarving Artist Shiromofu-san.” The artist’s plump wooden cats have been recreated as miniature figures, retaining the hand-carved textures and adorably world-weary expressions of the originals. Each one comes with everyday accessories that tell its own little story. The lineup includes four designs priced at 500 yen per pull, tax included. Online preorders are now open, with shipments scheduled for late February 2027.

Like the previously released Mio Hashimoto “Cat Sculptures” Capsule Toys, this collection shrinks woodcarved cats down into collectible figures. This time, the spotlight falls on the chubby felines created by Shiromofu-san, each with a slice-of-life story of its own. The four designs are the “Gray Tabby in a Cardboard Box,” “Black Cat Back from Cram School,” “Tabby-and-White Cat Who Loves Dorayaki,” and “Calico Cat Out Shopping.” The gray tabby rests both paws on the edge of its box, while the black cat wears pink glasses and carries a book. The tabby-and-white cat holds a bag stuffed with dorayaki in one paw and a snack ready to eat in the other. Meanwhile, the calico wears a small crossbody bag and looks ready to head out. Every cat appears to have a full daily schedule of its own.

Although the figures are made from PVC, each cat preserves the original sculptures’ distinctive chisel marks and rustic painted finish. From their rounded cheeks and slightly narrowed eyes to the charming miniature accessories, every detail adds personality. Standing approximately 5–6 cm tall, the four figures look like a group of feline neighbors simply going about their everyday lives on your desk.
