The colossal mecha returns! Hong Kong toy brand threezero's robot action figure line, ROBO-DOU (ロボ道), which has previously released figures from "Neon Genesis Evangelion," "Patlabor," "Dancouga," and more, is set to launch a new product in Q2 2022: the "Iron Giant" Galient from the classic robot anime "Panzer World Galient"!
"Panzer World Galient" (機甲界ガリアン), the robot anime produced by Sunrise, first aired in 1984. Originally planned for a 50-episode run, it was unfortunately cut short after only 25 episodes due to low ratings and poor merchandise sales. In 1986, three OVA titles were released, with "Crest of Iron" featuring an entirely new story.

This series is a unique blend of medieval knight aesthetics and sci-fi elements. The story follows Jordy Border (ジョルディ・ボーダー), nicknamed "Jojo," the prince of the Border Kingdom. After his kingdom is destroyed by the Marder (マーダル) Kingdom, he and his retainers escape under assumed names, hiding for over a decade. In White Valley, he meets the heroine Chururu (チュルル), who guides him to the legendary armored trooper, the "Iron Giant" Galient, inspiring him to seek revenge against the Marder Kingdom.
This threezero Galient action figure stands at an impressive 24.5 cm (approximately 9.6 inches) tall. It has been meticulously redesigned by threezero's chief designer, Kelvin Sau, giving Galient a more refined mechanical aesthetic and outstanding articulation. In the original series, Galient featured multiple forms, including its transformation into "Flight Form." Later in the story, after being upgraded to "Heavy Armor Custom," it gained the ability to separate into two distinct units: "Flight Form Custom" and "Ground Form Custom." All these transformations and separations are faithfully recreated in this figure.
For accessories, Galient comes complete with its signature long sword and sword whip, a back cannon, and a large shield. Also included are a twin heavy cannon that can be mounted on the shield, and three additional sets of interchangeable hand parts, allowing for a wide variety of dynamic poses.
