Following the release of the Hedorah JAPAN CULTURE 02 Ver. from the film "Godzilla vs. Hedorah," CCP (CCP Co., Ltd.), a toy company renowned for its high-quality statues and figures, is set to launch the third installment in its Artistic Monsters Collection (AMC) series: the "AMC Hedorah JAPAN CULTURE 03 Ver." vinyl figures! These three distinct styles will be available in extremely limited quantities, with an estimated shipping window of February to March 2022.
Released in 1971, "Godzilla vs. Hedorah" (ゴジラ対ヘドラ) was the 11th film in the iconic Godzilla series. The story introduces Hedorah, a mineral lifeform from space that arrives on Earth and, influenced by the planet's rampant pollution, absorbs sludge, exhaust fumes, and other toxic waste to grow into a colossal "Smog Monster."
Hedorah manifests in four distinct forms: Aquatic, Land, Flying, and Perfect. In its Land form, Hedorah moves on four legs, possesses the ability to melt steel with its body, and can shed its outermost skin to escape when necessary. The Flying form releases highly poisonous black smoke as it soars, capable of reducing humans to mere bones. Due to its amorphous shape and lack of fixed internal structure, Hedorah is largely impervious to most physical attacks.
The "AMC Hedorah JAPAN CULTURE 03 Ver." figures are designed by CCP's representative sculptor, Naoki Ento. These stunning pieces blend the vibrant, splattered aesthetic of "Mizufusen" (水風船), traditional Japanese festival water balloons, with Hedorah's distinctive slimy, muddy physique. The collection features three unique Hedorah forms: the Land Form, the Perfect Form, and a version depicted biting a smokestack, all rendered in exquisite color tones. Each figure boasts a dazzling metallic blue sheen complemented by black and white splatter paint, ensuring every piece is truly one-of-a-kind!
