Japanese model manufacturer Kotobukiya today (20th) announced the latest addition to its popular mecha girl plastic model series, "Megami Device": the "Chaos & Pretty Little Red Riding Hood," slated for release in March 2022.
The fantasy-themed Megami Device Chaos & Pretty series takes on the classic fairytale "Little Red Riding Hood" for its latest release. Building upon the previously launched "Chaos & Pretty Magical Girl" and incorporating the "M.S.G Extend Armament B" expansion kit, this new model, "Little Red Riding Hood," is highly specialized for close-quarters combat. While her default appearance is charmingly innocent, donning the Big Bad Wolf-head AI from her picnic basket transforms her red cloak into a versatile mechanical giant claw, enabling outstanding close-range offense and defense.
The "Megami Device Chaos & Pretty Little Red Riding Hood" kit utilizes the highly articulated Machinika body, designed by sculptor Masaki Apsy, allowing for a wide range of natural and adorable poses. It features newly sculpted hair parts, face prints, and fresh molding colors to capture Little Red Riding Hood's new look. The kit includes three interchangeable face parts and multiple hand gestures.
The integrated "M.S.G Extend Armament B" parts are molded in red to form the red cloak, and, like the picnic basket housing the Big Bad Wolf head, feature a transformation gimmick. This allows her to switch from her default "Little Red Riding Hood Mode" to a more aggressive "Wild Mode." The mechanical claw parts are connected by multi-stage articulated joints, offering both flexible posing and numerous 3mm expansion ports, making it easy to create dynamic action poses or combine with additional armaments!
