Bandai's Gashapon division, known for its "GashaPortraits" series focusing on female anime characters, is releasing new "GASHA PORTRAITS The Quintessential Quintuplets∬" blind box figures. These will be available in two waves, 01 and 02, with each wave featuring three popular characters. They are slated for release in January and February 2022.
Written by Japanese manga artist Negi Haruba, "The Quintessential Quintuplets" (五等分の花嫁) tells the story of Futaro Uesugi, a brilliant high school student who becomes a tutor for the Nakano quintuplets to pay off his family's debts. The narrative unfolds from his wedding to one of the sisters, flashing back to their initial encounters and the deepening bonds. This premise sparked intense "guess the bride" discussions among fans, with fierce support for different factions. In the second season, "The Quintessential Quintuplets∬," the emotional interactions between the five sisters and Futaro intensify as they each pursue their own happiness, leading to a "sister war" for his affection.
The first wave, "GASHA PORTRAITS The Quintessential Quintuplets∬ 01," features Ichika Nakano, Nino Nakano, and Miku Nakano. Each figure stands approximately 110mm tall, boasting delicate paintwork and charming original outfits. Their expressions and poses perfectly capture each character's unique personality.
The second wave, "GASHA PORTRAITS The Quintessential Quintuplets∬ 02," includes Yotsuba Nakano, Itsuki Nakano, and Rena Nakano. This series meticulously recreates their breezy, flowing outfits and hair accessories, even capturing Itsuki's slightly curvier physique, along with the adorable little Rena! No matter who your favorite is, you'll definitely want to collect both waves!
