BANDAI CANDY has officially announced the first special release in the revamped "Mobile Suit Gundam G-FRAME FA" candy toy series: the "G-FRAME FA EX01 Kampfer & Gundam NT-1 Chobham Armor Set," slated for release in February 2022.
The newly evolved "Mobile Suit Gundam G-FRAME FA" adds "FA" (Full Armor) to its name to signify significant improvements. The arms and rear thighs now feature full armor coverage, and the previous knee-rear armor connection structure has been removed, bringing the overall design closer to its original setting. The chest armor is also less prone to detaching, and the waist joint is easier to reassemble after separation. However, due to rising costs, the limb frames will now come as direct snap-off parts from a runner.
The "MS-18E Kampfer" featured in this set is a prototype assault mobile suit developed by the Principality of Zeon in "Mobile Suit Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket." While based on the Zaku's frame, generator, and propulsion system, the Kampfer's overall design is highly specialized for close-quarters combat. It's equipped with numerous high-thrust thrusters and attitude control verniers across its body, allowing it to lean forward and glide at high speeds, executing hit-and-run assault missions with extreme mobility and firepower. The trade-off for this lightweight design, however, is extremely thin armor, with even the front skirt armor completely omitted.
The product includes the Kampfer main unit, reinterpreted in the G-FRAME FA style, boasting high-density detail sculpting and an excellently articulated frame structure. It comes packed with a rich arsenal, including a Beam Saber, Shotgun, two Giant Bazookas, two Sturm Fausts, and a freely bendable Chain Mine measuring 25 cm long.
Additionally, the set includes a "Chobham Armor" parts set that can be combined with the separately sold "Gundam NT-1" from the regular lineup to recreate its full armor configuration!
