Bandai's Gashapon division is expanding its massively popular Waiting Animals (Machibouke) capsule toy line with an all-new theme: Waiting UMA! This set of six figures is scheduled to hit Gashapon machines in October 2021, priced at 300 JPY per try.

The original "Waiting Animals" series won fans over with its unique concept: cute animals sculpted in an anthropomorphic pose, tucking in their legs and resting their hands on their knees. The resulting look is one of earnest waiting, a charming blend of cute and just a little bit sad.
This time, however, Waiting UMA applies this same concept to the world of the unknown, featuring a lineup of Unidentified Mysterious Animals (UMA)! The collection includes the Grey Alien, the vampiric Chupacabra, the Himalayan wildman known as the Yeti, Japan's legendary Kappa, the elusive Tsuchinoko, and a Tsuchinoko (Rare Color) variant. Standing between 5 to 8 cm tall, these cryptids are brought to life in a cute, stylized form. Do they capture the complex feelings of a creature that wants to be discovered, yet fears it? With their subtly vacant and melancholic expressions, it's up to you, collectors, to finally find them!
