The HOBBY Division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS company, known for its extensive lineup of Gunpla kits, the "HG (High Grade)" series, has announced a new product from the official spin-off manga "Mobile Suit Gundam Wing G-UNIT." Following the Gundam Geminass 01 and Gundam Geminass 02, the latest reveal is the "HGAC 1/144 Gundam Aesculapius," slated for release in January 2022. This item will be sold exclusively through Bandai's official online store, Premium Bandai.
The OZ-10VMSX Gundam Aesculapius is a mobile suit modified by the OZ independent unit "OZ Prize." After capturing the Gundam Geminass 02, they enhanced it with additional armor and reinforced parts. The unit retains the original PX System and gains a transformable backpack along with "Serpent Claws" on both shoulders. In its standard High Mobility Type, it can wield weapons such as a Beam Saber and Beam Rifle. For specific missions and environments, it can transform into a Close Combat Type, reminiscent of a Z'Gok, to engage enemies with its formidable Serpent Claws.
The new "HGAC 1/144 Gundam Aesculapius" features a refreshed design by original mechanical designer Junichi Akutsu. It incorporates the latest articulation and part separation technologies from the HG series. Based on the previously released Gundam Geminass series kits, this model utilizes numerous new parts to faithfully recreate the distinctive head, shoulders, legs, and backpack, as well as its arsenal including the Beam Saber, Beam Rifle, and Rapid-Fire Rifle. Thanks to the movable mechanisms in the shoulders and backpack, along with interchangeable leg armor parts, the kit can transform into its Close Combat Type, complete with articulated Serpent Claws!
