Global toy giant Mattel is expanding its Pixar Spotlight Series of articulated figures, with the latest release being the rare, colorful giant bird "Kevin" from Disney and Pixar's "Up." This highly anticipated figure was originally priced at $40 USD and slated for a November 2021 release.
Pixar Animation Studios' tenth feature film, "Up," was the first to be released in Disney Digital 3D back in 2009. The heartwarming story follows 70-year-old Carl Fredricksen as he fulfills a promise to his late wife, Ellie, by attaching countless balloons to their house and flying off to Paradise Falls, a mysterious land in South America. Eager Wilderness Explorer Russell, hoping to earn his "Assisting the Elderly" badge, accidentally joins the journey. Along the way, they encounter Dug, a talking dog, and the vibrant, rare giant bird, Kevin, adding unexpected twists to their adventure.
Mattel's "Pixar Spotlight" series kicks off with the "Kevin" articulated figure, bringing the mysterious giant bird and her three baby chicks to life! Supervised by Pixar designer Albert Lozano, the figure meticulously recreates Kevin's unique look and proportions. Standing approximately 11.2 inches tall, Kevin features her distinctive long neck, large beak, tiny flightless wings, and long legs, all highlighted by her signature vibrant, colorful plumage. Articulation is integrated into her beak, neck, and legs. Additionally, three adorable baby chicks are included, each standing about 1.4 inches tall, creating a charming size contrast with their mother! To complete the set, Kevin's favorite chocolate accessory is also included, perfect for recreating her famously greedy moments from the film!
