Japanese model maker CCP recently announced their latest addition to the "1/6 Tokusatsu Series": the "Gabola" sofubi figure, based on the movie "Shin Ultraman." This imposing collectible is slated for an April 2022 release.
The Uranium Monster Gabola first appeared as a formidable foe in Episode 9 of the original "Ultraman" series. Its skin is five times harder than steel, and it can unleash a "Radioactive Beam" from its mouth, capable of instantly destroying objects. While its six neck fins may look somewhat comical when spread, they effectively protect its head when closed, allowing Gabola to burrow underground in search of its favorite food: Uranium-235.
The "1/6 Tokusatsu Series Gabola" is meticulously crafted based on the new design by Mahiro Maeda for the "Shin Ultraman" film. Standing at an impressive 30 cm tall and 50 cm long, this figure boasts a powerful presence. Its intricate sculpting captures the rough texture of Gabola's hardened skin, the detailed muscle patterns within its fins, and the drill-like spiral grooves on its outer fins and tail. The terrifying, skull-like head further enhances its impactful appearance.
