Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS collector's toy division, TAMASHII NATIONS, today unveiled the latest addition to its robot action figure line, "ROBOT魂," from "Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team." The "Ground Type Gundam (Desert Specification) ver. A.N.I.M.E." is slated for release in April 2022.
The RX-79[G] Ground Type Gundam is a ground combat mobile suit produced using non-standard surplus parts from the RX-78 series. While an emergency-produced mass-production model, its performance still surpassed that of the GM. Its exterior armor utilizes the same Luna Titanium alloy as the RX-78-2 Gundam, and its power unit boasts equivalent output, making its ground combat capabilities nearly identical. Furthermore, the Ground Type Gundam shares a high degree of parts commonality with the Ground Type GM, simplifying maintenance and upkeep. In addition to its standard version, a desert specification was also developed, featuring dust-proof modifications to its air intakes and joint areas.
The "Ground Type Gundam (Desert Specification) ver. A.N.I.M.E." is based on the previously released standard version. Beyond its new sand-yellow color scheme, it faithfully recreates the various dust-proof structures with newly sculpted parts. The figure boasts exceptional and natural articulation thanks to its superb joint design and part separation.
Its extensive arsenal includes a net gun, 100mm machine gun, beam rifle, short shield, and a rich array of effect parts for beams, firing, and thruster propulsion. The figure even reproduces the deployable leg armor compartment for storing beam saber hilts, allowing collectors to recreate a multitude of dynamic battle scenes!
