BANDAI SPIRITS Hobby Division has officially announced the latest addition to their 1/144 scale Gunpla RG (Real Grade) series, which integrates advanced inner frames, interlocking armor, and cutting-edge technology. Coming from "Mobile Fighter G Gundam," the new "RG 1/144 God Gundam" is slated for release in June 2022.
The GF13-017NJII God Gundam is the cutting-edge Mobile Fighter independently developed by Dr. Mikamura. Serving as protagonist Domon Kasshu's successor machine, it shares many performance capabilities and armament features with its predecessor, the Shining Gundam. The unit is equipped with an "Energy Multiplier System" that converts Domon's fighting spirit into raw power. When "Super Mode" is activated, its overall performance dramatically increases, and the six radiator fins on its back form a halo, granting the unit a magnetic coating and allowing it to unleash the incredibly passionate special move, the "Burning Finger"!
Beyond the series' signature high-density detailing and precisely separated exterior armor, the "RG 1/144 God Gundam" pushes boundaries with the largest range of articulation in RG history. It incorporates multiple newly designed joint structures to replicate the incredibly flexible, human-like movements seen in the anime, allowing collectors to pose it in dynamic martial arts stances that embody both power and grace.
This impressive articulation includes a three-axis movable structure in the neck, retractable mechanisms in the shoulders and wrists, telescopic knee joints with interlocking armor, multi-axis articulation in the waist, and sliding hip joint structures. Furthermore, a new foot design allows for nearly 90-degree bends, ensuring the model maintains excellent ground contact even in wide, dynamic stances.
Additionally, the gauntlet claws feature articulation to perfectly recreate the iconic "Burning Finger" special move. The back radiator fins also boast an original movable structure, allowing them to deploy and bend further backward. When unleashing its ultimate attack, the solar halo on its back is rendered with a combination of three distinct orange-toned parts, creating a stunning gradient effect.
