Japanese high-end statue manufacturer Prime 1 Studio, under its "Museum Masterline" brand, announced yesterday (the 18th) the highly anticipated "Batman Special Art Edition" (バットマン スペシャルアートエディション) 1/3 scale full-body statue, based on the upcoming DC blockbuster "The Batman (2022)"! Both a Regular Edition and a DX Bonus Edition will be released simultaneously, with an estimated shipping window of March to June 2023.
Standing an impressive 88 cm tall, this statue is meticulously crafted based on the artwork released by Korean-American comic legend Jim Lee at DC Fandome 2020. It powerfully captures Batman perched atop a gargoyle base, as if surveying the dark corners of Gotham City. The armored, form-fitting Batsuit features incredibly realistic equipment details, with the Bat-symbol on his chest, utility belt, and gauntlet accessories all rendered with meticulous accuracy. The battle damage and weathering on his armor and cape are remarkably lifelike, further enhanced by the rich, layered paint application, making for an overall stunning piece!
The DX Bonus Edition includes two additional masked head sculpts, interchangeable hands (including a clenched fist and one holding a grappling gun), and two unannounced interchangeable hand parts. It also comes with an A4-sized art print illustrated by Jim Lee, limited to 999 pieces.
