A dream collaboration featuring multiple acclaimed creator units from Nagoya, Japan – Headlock Studio, Maruhachi Gangu (丸八玩具), Unplug Works, Little Chop Design, and Johnny (W.C/Weird Collections) – has landed in Taipei! Their limited-time event, "Taipei Calling," kicked off today (November 19, 2021) at Paradise, a premier toy store located in Taipei's East District. Our Toy People exploration team arrived early to bring you a full on-site report, so let's dive right in!
Taipei Calling

First up, let's talk about the soft vinyl toys! "Taipei Calling" features an impressive array of three-dimensional works from Headlock Studio, Maruhachi Gangu, and Unplug Works. The vibrant colors of Spanky Kun, the Glow-in-the-Dark (GID) Frankenstein from the "Sekai no Bakemono Zukan" (World Monster Encyclopedia) series, and the incredibly striking Bakeneko (monster cat) are all absolutely captivating. The mutant Knuckle, assembled from various soft vinyl parts, is an exceptionally cool toy! The event also showcases custom works by Little Chop Design artist Knuckle, which are truly stunning!!
