BANDAI SPIRITS' TAMASHII NATIONS, a division specializing in collectible robot-themed action figures, recently showcased a prototype of its latest release from "Mobile Suit Gundam M-MSV": the "ROBOT SPIRITS (Ka signature) Prototype Rick Dias". The release date for this figure is yet to be announced.

The RX-098 Prototype Rick Dias is the precursor to the high-performance mass-production mobile suit, the Rick Dias, which was developed by Anaheim Electronics at the request of the AEUG. Its development brought together former Principality of Zeon engineers, and initially, to save time, it utilized a movable frame structure similar to Federation-type mobile suits. However, power output issues quickly arose. These problems were only resolved after the armor material was replaced with "Gundarium Gamma," earning it the development codename "Gamma Gundam". This mobile suit inherited the lineage of the Dom's final evolution, the Dwadge, and incorporated technical feedback from the Gundam Prototype 2. Its backpack is equipped with two massive "Hyper Beam Sabers," giving it a significant advantage in close-quarters combat. However, this powerful armament was not adopted for the subsequent mass-production model.

The design of the "ROBOT SPIRITS (Ka signature) Prototype Rick Dias" was supervised by renowned mechanical designer Katoki Hajime, showcasing the sharp lines of its full body armor and high-density details like its power pipes. The entire figure features a substantial paint finish and Ver.Ka-style markings, offering a more premium feel compared to standard ROBOT SPIRITS releases.
